The steps to restore QuickBooks company file from local backup

The user needs to perform the below set of steps to restore company file from local backup:

  • The very first step is to click on the option of the file in the menu bar and then chose the option open or restore company
  • After that, a pop up window will open up, in this users will have to choose the option of restore backup copy in order to restore the data from the backup copy and click on next tab
  • Select between saving the file on a local backup or as an online backup
  • Now, click on the local backup and then click on next
  • Click on open backup copy and use it to navigate to the folder in which the local back up of the company file is created
  • Click on the open tab and then return to the open or restore company window
  • After this, a user will come across a menu which will ask the location to restore the file. Ensure that you go through the information provided on the tab and once completed, click on Next Tab
  • A save company file as dialog box will appear on the screen, use it to navigate to the damaged or corrupted company file
  • And then click on save tab
  • Click on yes when the dialog box appears
  • Click on yes, in the delete entire file and click on ok tab
  • The lats step is to enter the admin password in the QuickBooks login dialog box and click on ok tab
